The Departed Movie Story Synopsis

This Action-Thriller Drama was released October 6th 2006 and directed by Martin Scorsese. The movie lasts 150 minutes and is a remake of the Hong Kong Crime/Gangster movie, Infernal Affairs. Billy Costigan (Leonardo DiCaprio) an agent in Boston has to infiltrate the criminal organisation leaded by Costello (Jack Nicholson). Colin Sullivan (Matt Damon), a young gangster who has joined the Boston police force works for Costello as a mole. He makes a fast promotion in the Special Investigation department. The leadership of the syndicate as well as the police sense that there's a mole in their organisations. Each man realises that his life is in danger and they must try to uncover the identity of the mole in order to save themselves. The movie is bruised, violent, and bloody. Ray Winstone is Costello’s muscle, (Mark Wahlberg) is a police sergeant and Vera Farmiga plays the role of a lover for both Sullivan and Costigan.
