Alex Hughes, an ex-convict, is on his way to meet the mother of his son who lives in Ontario.
He picks up a hitchhiker called Vivienne.
Unfortunately she dies after his car is hit by a truck.
Alex decides to track down her mother in Wawa her hometown.
Linda Freeman, Vivienne's mother, is autistic, who understands what has happened,
but shows little emotion.
