Dreamgirls Movie Story Synopsis

This Musical-Drama was released on December 25th 2006, filmed in Los Angeles, directed by Bill Condon and was based upon the Broadway-Musical with the same name. A car salesman (Jamie Foxx ) named Curtis wants to make it in the music business, by creating his own record label and sound. He discovers a girl group called the dreamettes at a talent contest. They start as back-up vocals for James Early (Eddie Murphy) also known as James Thunder. Curtis want to make his group famous at all costs. He pushes them to go on a solo career, to have their share of the fame. Deena (Beyonce Knowles) one of the girls singers and the most attractive one, becomes the star of the group, at the cost of Effie (Jennifer Hudson) a lesser goddess.
