Blood Diamond Movie Story Synopsis

This War-Thriller drama was released on December 8th 2006, filmed in London, New York, Mozambique and Cape Town and directed by Edward Zwick. In short: A farmer in sierra Leone teams up with a mercenary to find a rare diamond, at the same time he is also looking for his son who was drafted into a child's army. Danny Archer (Leonardo DiCaprio), a former mercenary from South Africa, now tranding diamonds for arms, and Solomon Vandy (Djimon Hounsou), who met eachother in prison, dicide to travel through rebel territory in their quest for a pink diamond, hidden by Solomon during the time he was a forced laborer for the "diamond-industry", a stone so rare that it will end all their financial problems. Maddy Bowen (Jennifer Connelly), an American reporter who want to know the truth behind the conflict diamonds and the unscrupulous people behind it, has chosen Archer as a source, but eventually she feels more for him.
