An American Haunting Movie Story - Synopsis. Based on the book "The Bell Witch: An American Haunting" by writer Brent Monahan. The story is based on the alleged only documented true case in american history of a spirit causing a person's death. Known throughout Tennessee as "Old Kate," the spirit Bell Witch took up residence with John Bell's family in 1818. It was a cruel and noisy demon. It haunted the family and eventually ended up causing the death of John Bell (Donald Sutherland ). Also Starring: Rachel Hurd Wood , James D'Arcy , Sissy Spacek and Matthew Marsh. |
